Welcome to the Build Your Own Activity Hub, where we can share information and gather feedback about potential enhancements to the Castlegar & District Community Complex (CDCC).

The CDCC is a multi-activity recreation centre and community hub in the City of Castlegar, owned and operated by the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK). The CDCC serves users in Castlegar, and Electoral Areas I and J, by providing facilities for sport and social activities, for people of all ages and interests. According to the 2015 Recreation Master Plan survey, 81% of residents have used some portion of the CDCC in the previous year. From aquatics and fitness programs, to a hockey arena and seniors centre, the CDCC has something for everyone.

In 2015, the Castlegar and District Recreation Commission (CDRC) embarked on a master planning process to plan for and enhance the provision of recreational services and facilities into the future. Findings from this process showed that the community wanted improvements to the CDCC, and provided insight for the Commission to move forward.

The Build Your Own Activity Hub initiative grew out of the master planning process as a way to engage service users on what potential enhancements to the CDCC should look like. The goal of this initiative is to ensure that all service users have their say, and to ensure the CDCC reflects the wishes of the community as a whole.

You are invited to explore this website to learn more about the Build Your Own Activity Hub initiative and how you can get involved.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay, RC Strategies+PERC and HCMA Architecture + Design thank you for your interest in the project. We look forward to hearing from you as we move towards a revitalized CDCC.
